What's New
What's New with Pokemon
Here I could tell more about pokemon.
Today's major update to the PokeRep is the Advanced Search feature. This tool allows you to find Pokemon based on many different criteria. With the Advanced Search, you can look up, say, all Dragon or Water type Sinnoh Pokemon who can learn Hyper Beam as a level up attack or a TM. There are other searching options to choose from as well -- I will be adding more and more options later on.
In addition, I have added the old name etymologies. Now you can find out how Pikachu got its name! Unfortunately, the PokeRep currently does not have etymologies for fourth generation Pokemon (#387-#493). If you think you can provide any of these, please drop me at e-mail at weicool@gmail.com.
Also, if you discover any errors while browsing through the PokeRep, please tell me! Information is only good if it's error-free, so I need everyone's help in keeping it that way. Happy browsing!

I've added a new way to list out Pokemon on the PokeRep's front page and, along with that, some cool sorting functionality. Now, you will be able to view listings of Pokemon in different categories, such as Pokemon #001 - #151 or only Sinnoh Pokemon. Within each display mode, you can sort Pokemon to find the entry that you want faster, or just to get some information down. Currently, you can sort Pokemon by name, NationalDex ID, an ID of the current category (Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh), their types (in order to view grouped listings of types), and by their stats (including total stats).
To sort Pokemon, you simply click on the table column headers. You can do things from simply listing out Pokemon alphabetically to ranking Pokemon according to their stats to find out who the most powerful Pokemon are (simply choose the "All Pokemon" display mode and click on the "Total" column header). Try out the new PokeRep Sorting now!

Once again, I've made major updates to the PokeRep. In this update, I have added detailed move information. Along with that, you can now view a list of Pokemon in relation to moves. For example, with a click of a button, you can find all Pokemon who learn Hyper Beam by leveling up. I thank Eevee at Veekun very much for his permission to use the move data. Of course, there is much more to come for the PokeRep, which will be updatedly substantially in the next few days and worked on constantly throughout the rest of the year. In the next update, I will hopefully have some advanced searching functionality (maybe I should first put on a simple search box!) and Pokemon ranking based on their stats.
In other site news, I've been very behind in updating Fan Art. I have received many great drawings and I hope to get them up as soon as I can. I apologize to all the artists who had to wait such a long time to see their artwork on the site. In the next few days, I will be updating the Fan Art section with drawings I've been receiving in the past few months.

I've added a considerable amount of information to the Pokemon entries in the PokeRep over the past few days. I've added evolution chains for all Pokemon. Coding it was quite a challenge, but I finally got it after hours of struggling with it. I've also included many useful statistics, such as Effort Value yields and base experience. Finally, I've added each Pokemon's abilities and their effects.
Behind the scenes, even more stuff was added to the Repository. Within the next couple of days, you can expect detailed attack/move data and breeding data to be up. Once that's done, I definitely plan to add searching functions to make finding the right Pokemon a breeze. Sounds interesting? Why don't you take a look at Arceus' entry.

Press Release:
Answering High Demand from Pokemon Fans, Company Releases First Set of Trading Figures in U.S.
BELLEVUE, Wash.—August 6, 2007—Pokemon USA, Inc., a worldwide leader in trading card games, today announced the U.S. release of the Pokemon Trading Figure Game (TFG), slated to hit stores on September 19. This marks the latest milestone in the Pokemon collectible gaming evolution since the release of the phenomenally successful Pokemon Trading Card Game in Japan in 1996. The first set of figures released will include more than 40 popular Pokemon characters and Trainer figures; select booster sets will include Pokemon from the recent Pokemon Trading Card Game: Diamond & Pearl release.
Gameplay includes a dynamic spinning mechanism for each Pokemon that lets players send their figures into battle against one another in an entirely new way. By mixing and matching figures, players can expand their battle choices right from the beginning, encouraging a similar sport and strategy as practiced in the world-renowned Pokemon Trading Card Game. The TFG is easy to learn and play, and is appropriate for players age eight and older.
“Pokemon fans reacted with great enthusiasm to early previews in the U.S.,” said Tsunekaz Ishihara, president and CEO, The Pokemon Company, and co-creator of both the TFG and the original Pokemon Trading Card Game. “The high quality of the figures, the collectible nature of the game, and the exciting mechanism for battle were all very popular with players of all ages. We feel we have created a truly distinctive game that will carry on Pokemon’s tradition of excellence.”
The two Pokemon TFG starter sets include basic rules that will have fans playing in minutes: a two-player arena playmat, Trainer cards, and four different dynamic figures, including a Trainer figure. Boosters will expand gameplay and add new figures and Trainer cards to players’ collections. The starter sets will be priced at $14.99 and the boosters at $3.49 for one figure, $6.99 for two figures (including a random mystery figure) and a Trainer card, and $9.99 for three figures, including a random mystery figure and one of three special promo figures (Chimchar, Piplup, or Turtwig) from the Diamond & Pearl release as well as a Trainer card. Future expansions—with additional popular Pokemon to increase the possibilities for battles—are under development.
Figures were sculpted with care by Kaiyodo Co., Ltd., of Osaka, Japan, which has been a manufacturer of original, limited-edition assembly-type plastic models for more than 40 years. In addition to the upcoming Pokemon TFG, Kaiyodo produces a wide variety of other popular model lines for enthusiasts all over the world.

A rather large update for the PokeRep today: you can now view images of each Pokemon from all generations of Pokemon RPGs. In addition, you will also hear the Pokemon cry when you check its entry. I will eventually be adding mini icons too. This is all thanks to Veekun, who has generously given us permission to use his content.
I will soon be restoring Pokemon name etymologies, which a few of you have asked about. Currently, I'm working on displaying evolution chains and attack data. Enjoy what we have now and dream of what will come tomorrow!

Thanks to CaliSunset, Pokemon Dream now has a Pokemon Battle Revolution Walkthrough. Also, thanks to Alexcalibur3000, we have another addition to our Diamond and Pearl section: an EV Training Hotspot Guide. Amidst these wonderful updates, I've been working on the PokeRep. Although there aren't any updates for that yet, I've been doing quite a bit of work behind the scenes. Expect to see something new up every few days.

I think it's about time PD had some sort of review. And so, I shall review Pokemon Battle Revolution.
I recently obtained PBR because I had accidentally forgot all my other Wii games at our little condo thing near a lake. Luckily, I'll be back there shortly, but I thought I might as well get it, and I had a few bucks at hand.
Probably PBR's best asset would be its graphics, which are quite amazing, followed by its audio, including the background music, which you could listen to for hours on end without picking up a chair and smashing the tv with it. The announcer's voice has improved a bit. I especially liked when I used Shadow Force with Giratina, and he would say, "Complete destruction by SHADOW FORCE!", in a voice that sounded like he had been kicked in the shins by a snotty child with a name like "Edward Warbunger III".
The story mode-thing is actually pretty hard if you don't use pokemon that you copied from Diamond or Pearl. Besides taht though, there's not much to do unless you have a copy of D/P. Luckily you don't need to exchange friend codes to battle on Wi-Fi. THere's an option that allows you to play against a random person, after which you can exchange friend codes if you want to.
All in all, it's an ok game, but I only recommend it to people with D/P.

Tonight, I am revealing the project I've been working on over the past month or so (working on average of only two hours a day as I struggle to find time). It is one that I'm very excited about and hope to expand constantly. I present to you Pokemon Dream's new PokeDex, the Pokemon Repository, also known as the PokeRep. It is built with PHP and MySQL and is very different from what we used to have. Although it only has three sections for every Pokemon (including Diamond/Pearl fourth generation Pokemon) for now, I plan to expand it by a lot before the end of the summer, and continue expanding, building all sorts of applications around this Pokemon Repository.
As of today, there isn't a "main menu" to choose Pokemon from. However, you can check it out by going to http://pokedream.com/pokemon.NAME where NAME is the name of any Pokemon. Inputting IDs currently doesn't work. However, it is capable of finding incorrectly spelled names. Try http://pokedream.com/pokemon.bulbasaur -- an equivalent, and "official" address is http://pokedream.com/pokerep/pokemon/bulbasaur
I'm hoping to add much more functionality and a whole lot more information into this repository in the days to come. For now, just check it out, and post your comments and suggestions.

As you may know, In the past three days, Pokemon Dream has suffered major downtime. Every day, the site was down for around 5 hours, completely blocking anyone from coming in. This was due to one reason: we were getting too many visitors and then server could not handle it. However, this problem should be history, for I have upgraded to a more powerful server that can handle much more.
At the moment, I don't have any updates. Stay tuned though, for I shall be putting up a major project I've been working on over the past month or so. I'm sure everyone will enjoy that
